FAQs
How often will we meet?
Once a week is typical in order to build the therapeutic relationship and gain some momentum. Once some or all of your goals are met, meeting biweekly or monthly may be appropriate. Frequency may change based on life changes, finances, and availability.
How much do you charge?
Each therapist sets their own fee. As a practice, our fees range from $190-325 for a 50-minute session and vary based on service. We accept Loveland Foundation vouchers and offer limited sliding scale, please connect with your therapist regarding this during the introductory call. We are currently accepting those who can invest the full fee as all sliding scale slots are filled.
Do you provide in-person or virtual therapy?
We care for your safety and given the current circumstances with Covid-19 and the new Omicron variant, all sessions take place virtually using a secure and HIPAA compliant telehealth system. Established clients can also hold some sessions by telephone if needed.
What is your cancellation policy?
A notice of cancellation done within 24 hours or less of a scheduled session incurs the full session fee. A notice of cancellation done within 48 hours or less of a scheduled session incurs half of the session fee. Sessions rescheduled within the same week will not incur a fee. With short notice, it is hard for your therapist to adjust their schedule. Exceptions are made occasionally in the case of an emergency. Consistency is important for continued progress in therapy.
Do you accept insurance?
We do not accept any insurance at this time. Most clients submit a claim for out-of-network reimbursement and your therapist can provide a detailed invoice or superbill to assist with your claim. Please note that submitting an insurance claim means we will need to give you a mental health diagnosis.
Do you prescribe medication?
We do not prescribe medication but understand that medication may be helpful for some people. Many people make great progress in therapy without medication. Your therapist or you may want to be evaluated for psychiatric medication. Your therapist can coordinate care with your doctor.
What can I expect from my first session?
During your initial sessions, you will begin to share your story, identify what you would like to change, and begin defining goals for therapy. Another important aspect of the first session is deciding if you and your therapist are a good fit and this is important as the therapeutic relationship is the primary part of healing.
What is the therapy matching process?
The search for a therapist can feel like dating and it’s okay if it takes multiple matches before finding “the one”. During your initial phone intake, we will recommend one of our therapists and you will be able to set up a free introductory call. This can be a great time to get a feel for each other and start building a connection.
Is there a waitlist?
We maintain an active waitlist of prospective clients and we do our diligence to reconnect based on upcoming availability. We understand needs may vary and if during the initial phone call, we believe you need more immediate support, we will recommend and refer you to the appropriate resources.
What are your ethics around fee setting?
Therapists are the frontline workers in the mental health crisis and our providers charge a fee that aligns with their financial wellness. Our providers bring in a wealth of education, experience, and hard work while navigating inadequacies in our healthcare system too. Financial health contributes to our ability to provide our clients with the highest levels of presence and care.
